This year’s conference is dedicated to the topic „Socio-emotional and cognitive development in learning: educational goals in competition?!“. Theoretical approaches and current findings will be presented and discussed to address the question of whether these two educational goals are actually in conflict or to what extent they can support each other given certain conditions. The conference is organized by the Center for Research on Education and School Development (IFS).
Taking into account the normative task that all learners should acquire basic competencies, the conference considers the role of socio-emotional aspects – such as emotions, motivation and well-being – in learning and the question of how socio-emotional learning can be designed for heterogeneous groups. It will discuss how contemporary educational research can enrich the multidimensional educational process to address the various educational goals.
The participation fee is 89 euros. Participants need to register by 20 June.
