5th IFS Virtual Keynote Series: “Language and learning in multilingual families and classrooms”

Monica Melby-Lervåg (University of Oslo) will present research findings on the impact of home language and literacy environment and factors that increase children’s educational outcome on the topic of “Factors underlying academic performance in children living in poverty: Knowledge from low and middle income countries”. Afterwards, Erika Hoff (Florida Atlantic University) will present results on the topic of bilingual development with the topic “Common Patterns and Individual Differences in Bilingual Development: Evidence from a Longitudinal Study of Children in Immigrant Families”.

The Center for Research on Education and School Development (IFS) at TU Dortmund University is organizing the IFS Virtual Keynote Series, an internationally oriented event on current topics in empirical educational research. The first of the two events will focus on the topic of “Language and learning in multilingual families and classrooms”. The second event will take place on 20 January. Participation is free of charge. Please register in advance.
