Ah, that feels good! Understanding and regulating the nervous system
- English Language Events
- Workshop
In this workshop, the students delve into the fascinating world of the nervous system and explore how it influences our emotions, behaviour and perception of stress. The Psychological Advisory Service shows how the autonomic nervous system reacts to stress – and how it can be specifically supported in returning to a state of relaxation, security and connectedness.
Contents:
• Basics of the autonomic nervous system (polyvagal theory, stress tolerance window, sympathetic & parasympathetic nervous systems)
• Recognizing and understanding body signals
• Self-regulation through simple exercises suitable for everyday use
• Dealing with stress, excessive demands and emotional reactions
• Activating resources and strengthening resilience
The workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to understand themselves better and remain capable of acting in challenging situations – regardless of prior knowledge – and uses methods like psychoeducation, body awareness, breathing and movement exercises or discussion in small groups.
The workshop is part of a series of seven events entitled “Level up: Self-confident, balanced and connected during your studies“ in the winter semester 2025/26.
