Guest lecture on the cultural poetics of trees and ecological mourning

The cultural and literary scholar Dr. Solvejg Nitzke from TU Dresden will give a guest lecture on the cultural poetics of trees and ecological mourning. The lecture is organised by the Institute for Language, Literature and Culture (Department of Cultural Studies) and is open to members of TU Dortmund University and the interested public.

In her lecture “Ghostly Things: Arboreal Grief and Mourning in Disturbed Land- and Timescapes”, Dr. Solvejg Nitzke will focus on the cultural poetics of trees and the concept of ecological mourning. The lecture will be held in English and is part of the seminar “Mourning and Melancholia” (led by Dr. Mark Schmitt) at the Institute for Language, Literature and Culture. Everyone interested is cordially invited. Participation is free of charge.
