DocDay 2025 – A day all about the doctorate

Doctoral candidates have the chance to visit interesting talks, meet other (prospective) doctoral candidates, and learn more about how TU Dortmund University can support them during their doctorate.

Hearing condensed information, getting exciting impulses and making interesting new connections will be the focus of the DocDay, revolving around all the skills and challenges associated with getting a PhD.

The DocDay will be held in-person, offering participants the opportunity to make more personal connections and meet important institutions at TU Dortmund University. The program includes info sessions from doctoral candidates to (prospective) doctoral candidates. Topics will include how to start into the doctorate or how to manage data, among other things. Furthermore, there will be keynotes and talks from Prof. Martina Brandt (Department of Social Sciences, TU Dortmund University) and Nadine Lordick (Schreibzentrum Ruhr University Bochum, „KI-gestütztes Schreiben“ & KI:edu.nrw). Some talks will be held in English and some in German.

The DocDay is organised by the Graduate Center and is open to all people currently working on or interested in pursuing a PhD. Participation is free of charge.
