TU Dortmund University stands for the interaction of a unique ensemble of natural and engineering sciences as well as social and cultural sciences. Around 300 professors, 6,600 employees and almost 30,000 students at TU Dortmund University are driving advances in knowledge and methods, launching technical innovations and helping to shape cultural change.
With the establishment of its City Campus on the Hochschuletage in the Dortmunder U, the university is deliberately taking a step towards Dortmund's city center and also towards the Dortmund population. The City Campus is the TU Dortmund University's window into its city. The presence in the Dortmunder U opens up new spaces for teachers and students to experience and opportunities to actively participate in urban society. The focus of the work is the mediation of and between different scientific cultures. This gives interested members of the public the opportunity to find out more about TU Dortmund University, for example by visiting exhibitions, readings, workshops and other events. TU Dortmund University sees joint projects with partners in the building and with other players from the city and region as an opportunity to strengthen the Center for Art and Creativity and thus make a sustainable contribution to the development of the Ruhr metropolitan region.
