Knowledge and Technology Transfer at TU Dortmund University

TU Dortmund University initiates, fosters and prizes start-ups as well as transfer between academia and practice. It actively helps students, graduates and staff with the development and realization of their business ideas as well as the assessment and commercialization of inventions and patents.

Germany’s largest technology park, TechnologieZentrumDortmund, is located immediately next to the campus and a symbol of successful technology and knowledge transfer at TU Dortmund University.

Since 2017, the start-up and transfer activities of TU Dortmund University have been bundled at the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET). The center fosters entrepreneurial skills, advises on funding programs and property rights, and helps with all the steps involved in starting a business. In addition, CET encourages partnerships between established companies and young start-ups, shows scientists ways to transfer their research results, and holds events on topics important for launching up a new business venture.
