Research Monitoring

TU Dortmund University collects data on the research activities of its academic departments as part of a research monitoring process.

The framework for this monitoring was developed during the participatory process to implement TU Dortmund University’s Research Strategy 2023–2027 and was initially drafted in the “Monitoring and Evaluation” workshop. In subsequent discussions with the departments and the Rectorate, the proposals were refined and indicators prioritized.

The aim of the monitoring is to capture the diversity and various forms of research conducted at TU Dortmund University. The results help inform the Rectorate and support the further development of research-related measures.

If you have any questions about the monitoring process, please contact us at forschungsmonitoringtu-dortmundde. The FAQs can be found further down the page.

FAQ

Monitoring is currently planned to take place every two years.

In line with established practice for the third-party funding report, the results will be made available to the Rectorate at the university level and the departments at the respective departmental level.

The third-party funding report continues to exist independently of monitoring and is produced annually.

The research monitoring is CoARA-compliant and its development went hand in hand with the internal CoARA process drawing up the Action Plan. Qualitative indicators allow the quantitative figures to be classified.
