The Department of Disability and Studies (DoBuS) at the Center for Higher Education offers counseling and support for current and prospective students with disabilities and chronic diseases. In order to create an inclusive academic environment, DoBuS converts study materials into accessible formats. On the North Campus, it operates a computer workroom with special needs accommodations, and students can check out portable special needs equipment to take to lectures. In addition to individual counselling, there is a mentoring program for new students, different group options, and information sessions for current and prospective students with special health conditions.

DoBuS services are also available to all university staff, covering topics such as accessible teaching and exam sites, accessible building and technological infrastructures, accessible administrative procedures, and much more.

DoBuS supports TU Dortmund University on its path to becoming a fully inclusive university.
