Change of study
The application for a change of degree program must always be submitted in the campus portal during the enrollment period. If you have applied for an NC degree program or subject, you will be informed of a separate deadline with the admission notice, in which you must accept the degree program and apply for the change.
In order to reach the correct application you need to initially add a request for a change of your degree program. If the desired new degree program does not have restricted admission or you are already admitted to the program, please click on the button “apply for enrollment”.

In principle, the change of studies can only be carried out once the amount required for re-registration has been added to your matriculation number. If no payment has been received yet, the application cannot be processed at this point.
If you are already studying at TU Dortmund University and have been admitted to an NC degree program, please submit a digital request for a change of your degree program within the deadline stated in the admission notice.
Change to master's degree programs
Depending on the faculty and the degree program different deadlines for changing into a Master's program may apply. A change into a Master's degree program is only possible after obtaining a Bachelor's degree. As a first step please add a request for a change of your degree program in the campus portal. After your application is evaluated and you received an admission to the Master's degree program, you can reach the request for a change of your study program through the buttion “apply for enrollment”.
Consecutive Master
If you are applying for a consecutive master and your final grade of your Bachelor's degree is already registered in the campus portal, you only need to upload a transcript of records in all upload spaces. In the case of study programs that are supervised decentrally in the faculties, proof of the bachelor's degree (e.g. confirmation from the examination board or the bachelor's certificate) must be enclosed.
Non-Consecutive Master
If you want to study a non-consecutive master you need to apply for the desired degree program. In this case you need to upload all the required documents.
Change to doctoral studies
Transferring to a doctoral program is possible at any time. Please see the following information regarding doctoral studies.
Change of a subject in teacher training
Please be aware that the process for requesting a change of subject in teacher training varies depending on whether or not the chosen subject has restricted admission.
If you are requesting a change of subject for a subject without restricted admission, please choose “Educational Studies” in the drop down menu and choose all the subjects you want to keep as well as the one you want to change into.
If you are requesting a change of subject for a subject with restricted admission please choose “Change of subject” in the drop down menu in the campus portal.
International students
International students who wish to change their program of study should contact the International Office.
