Talent Scouting - TU Dortmund University

The talent scouts of TU Dortmund University are on the road in schools in the Dortmund city area as well as in the Unna district and in Waltrop to discover talented pupils, most of whom come from an environment that is not always able to support them in all aspects of choosing a course of study or a career.

With interdisciplinary know-how, they discover potential, build bridges and accompany the talents individually, open-endedly and long-term on their way into the future. The aim is to contribute to greater educational equity, equal opportunities and diversity.

The program is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia(MKW NRW). The cross-university collaboration is accompanied by the NRW-Zentrum für Talentförderung (NRW Center for Talent Development) in Gelsenkirchen.

Find talents, promote talents, accompany talents

Talent Scouting at TU Dortmund University builds on existing offers for the transition from school to university. TU Dortmund University is very well positioned in this area. It offers numerous measures that support prospective students on both a professional and personal level and are coordinated with each other. These include individual counseling, projects and measures for study orientation, assistance in organizing the start of studies, and offers for professional preparation for pupils. With Talent Scouting, TU Dortmund University is now reaching out to young people who have not yet had the opportunity to fully exploit their potential. TU Dortmund University's Talent Scouts thus become part of the enabling culture that characterizes TU Dortmund University and the region: Talent Scouts advise pupils directly in schools, pave the way for access to support services, and create bridges that lead from schools to universities.

As part of the Talent Scouting program, TU Dortmund University works closely with Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the city of Dortmund, and educational partners in the region. In this way, optimal conditions can be created for the success of the program.
