Reading and Learning

University Library of TU Dortmund University

Students can use the four locations of the University Library (UB) to search for sources, borrow books, and learn. The UB has about 1 million books as well as a large selection of e-books and e-journals. Students can use the interlibrary loan service and various databases. In addition, the UB offers subject-specific consultation and courses on how to find relevant literature.

The UB's central service point on the North Campus is currently the Emil Figge Library (EFB). The library, located at Emil-Figge-Straße 50, offers 287 learning workstations and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Located in the neighboring Technology Park, the Sebrath Library (SB) at Sebrathweg 7 (library and learning workstations) and Sebrathweg 9 (administration) is the UB's alternate location until the new Central Library building opens in 2028/29. The library at Sebrathweg 7 provides 240 learning workstations. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

At the South Campus, the Departmental Library of Architecture and Civil Engineering with 24 learning workstations and the Departmental Library of Spatial Planning with 55 workstations are located in the Storey Building I at August-Schmidt-Straße 6. During the lecture period, the Departmental Library of Architecture and Civil Engineering is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday. During the semester break, it is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The Departmental Library of Spatial Planning is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

TU Dortmund University also has numerous study areas where students can learn and work either by themselves or in groups. Another study area is located at the Westenhellweg 127.
