Prof. Dr.-Ing. Petra Wiederkehr

Prof. Petra Wiederkehr has been a member of the Rectorate as Vice President since 2023. On 1 September 2026, she assumed responsibility for the research affairs previously, she was responsible for Diversity.

Wiederkehr has been professor for Virtual Machining at the Department of Computer Science at TU Dortmund University since 2017 and conducts research in the field of digitalization and optimization of manufacturing processes. Previously, she was a junior professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Petra Wiederkehr is, among other things, a member of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech).

The Vice President Research is responsible for all cross-departmental matters concerning research at TU Dortmund University, especially collaborative research and support for early career researchers, including non-university research partnerships with scientific institutions in Germany and abroad.
