Prof. Dr. Maximiliane Wilkesmann

Professor Maximiliane Wilkesmann assumed office as Vice President International Affairs and Diversity on 1 September 2026.

Wilkesmann joined TU Dortmund University as a junior professor in 2010. In 2019, she secured a Heisenberg Professorship in the Sociology of Work and Organizations funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Her empirical research focuses, among other topics, on new forms of work and employment as well as knowledge transfer. In this field, she also taught for several years as a visiting lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Since 2024, she has been a member of TU Dortmund University’s newly established Working Group on Abuse of Power. As a Scientific Board Member of the College for Social Sciences and Humanities, she builds international networks for the University Alliance Ruhr.

The Vice President International Affairs and Diversity is responsible for all cross-faculty matters relating to internationalization, in particular the development of international strategic partnerships and services supporting international guests on campus. The portfolio also includes all cross-faculty matters concerning the promotion of diversity and equal opportunities at TU Dortmund University.
