Scholarship ceremony

Since the winter semester 2011/2012, TU Dortmund University has offered the Deutschlandstipendium as a funding opportunity for students. As part of this program, high-achieving and talented students are supported by private donors and companies. At the TU Dortmund University's annual scholarship ceremony, the donors have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with the more than 200 students who have received funding.

Looking back: Scholarship celebration 2024/25

In the 2024/25 funding year, a total of 241 Deutschlandstipendien were donated by 58 sponsors. At the traditional scholarship ceremony on 13.03.2025, the sponsored students had the opportunity to meet their sponsors in person. The Soroptimist sponsorship award was also presented to a particularly dedicated student as part of the scholarship ceremony. Prof. Manfred Bayer, Rector of TU Dortmund University, congratulated the scholarship holders and emphasized the importance of the sponsorship as a great opportunity for their future careers. He also thanked the sponsors and presented them with certificates in recognition of their commitment. The largest sponsors in the current funding year include Sparkasse Dortmund, the Wilo-Foundation, the Bernd Jochheim Foundation, the RAG Foundation, the Artur and Lieselotte Dumcke Foundation, the Society of Friends of TU Dortmund University, Leue & Nill GmbH & Co KG and Evonik Operations GmbH.

The Deutschlandstipendium includes funding for at least two semesters, during which students receive 300 euros per month - 150 euros from the federal government and 150 euros from private sponsors, foundations or companies. Outstanding academic achievements are the focus when selecting scholarship holders. Social commitment, a willingness to take on responsibility or special social, family or personal circumstances are also taken into account.

Special commitment honored

The Soroptimist sponsorship award was finally presented to student teacher Hülya Uysal. Daniela Fischer, President of the Soroptimist International Club Dortmund, honored her outstanding achievements in her studies and her voluntary work for the Peace Village International in Oberhausen.
