Mechanical Engineering Technology can be studied in the following school type at TU Dortmund University:
Why study Teacher Training Mechanical Engineering Technology?

„What I especially like about studying Mechanical Engineering Technology for teaching at vocationals schools is that there are many hands-on projects that can be realized in a makerspace (M.EE). This way, I not only learn the fundamentals of mechanical engineering but also how to effectively pass these concepts on to my future students.“

To begin the preparatory teaching internship (Referendariat), you must provide proof of 52 weeks of practical training (industrial internship), of which 26 weeks must be completed before registering for the master's thesis. It is recommended to complete this internship before starting your studies. Relevant prior vocational training can be recognized.
In the Master of Education degree program, students complete an internship semester consisting of:
- a five‑month school internship (20 weeks)
- It is recommended to prepare for this internship during the first master’s semester and complete it in the second semester.
During the internship semester, students gain deep insights into everyday school life and connect their theoretical knowledge with hands‑on experience. The internship is prepared and supervised at three learning sites: the university, the Center for Practical Teacher Training, and the school.
