Overview
The M.A. in Educational Sciences is a research-based Master’s degree program which prepares students for senior positions in various professional fields in education and for doctoral studies in the educational sciences.
It comprises a foundation program and a project-based specialization, which is linked to a parallel research internship. The foundation program is concerned with knowledge resources, theories and research methods in educational science, which should serve as a knowledge base for reflection and evaluation, in order to illuminate the interrelationships of education in different contexts and from different perspectives.
Students can choose their specialization from four project themes:
- Educational Theory and Educational Research
- Social Work
- Empirical Educational Research and Quality Management
- Education and Employment
Work in the chosen project is closely dovetailed with tutorials and students’ own research. This research feeds into the Master’s thesis.
Skills and knowledge
Prerequisite for the Master’s Degree Program in Educational Sciences is a relevant Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Education, Psychology and Sociology of TU Dortmund University or another degree recognized as equivalent from another university.
