What is it about?

Do you enjoy logical thinking and want to know how to use data to solve real problems, from climate change to fake news?

Do you want to understand the mathematics and statistics behind AI?

Do you want to know how data is collected, analyzed, and interpreted in science and research, and how you can do it yourself?

Interest sparked?

In this degree program, students work with topics such as:

  • advanced mathematical statistics (probability theory, asymptotic statistics)
  • statistical modeling (time series, survival times, regression, classification, statistical learning, and AI)
  • specialization in the field of application (biometrics, econometrics, technometrics)
  • practical projects (working with real, relevant data sets, scientific presentation and communication of results)
  • minor subject (choice of more than 15 other subjects at TU Dortmund University)
