Inspiring conversations in perfect weather

As always, the numerous visitors on July 9 were very open and interested in the wide variety of activities offered at the booths. From sports activities and culinary delights to bull riding and karaoke, there was plenty to enjoy.

Talent scouting was also front and center at the Central Student Advising Office’s booth. There, an interactive activity invited guests strolling by to place a dot on a poster and answer whether they were the first in their family to attend college or if there were already college graduates in their family.

The activity proved to be an ideal conversation starter: Many visitors took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with the talent scouts. Numerous engaging conversations developed about a wide variety of educational backgrounds, personal motivation, the importance of networks, and individual paths in higher education and careers. Once again, it became clear just how diverse educational paths are and how valuable personal exchanges about experiences, opportunities, and challenges can be.

The summer festival thus provided not only a space for socializing, enjoyment, and entertainment, but also for inspiring conversations and new perspectives—in keeping with the spirit of an open and diverse university community.
