Why do you want to be a volunteer at the World University Games 2025?
I am a sports enthusiast and am interested in many different sports. I enjoy working with people from different regions and am excited to see how such a big event is organized.
A fun fact about you or your volunteer experience:
You can recognize me by the fact that I sometimes walk around the university buildings wearing a bike helmet out of sheer scatterbrainedness.
Anything else you always wanted to say:
Everything is easier with music!

Area in which you will be active as a volunteer or already have experience:
I will be working as an entertainment volunteer in the event presentation area in the Essen exhibition hall in the disciplines of rhythmic gymnastics and judo. I don't yet have any experience as a volunteer at sporting events, but I am active in the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief and have already helped to secure the course at running events. I also sit on the sports committee of my home town of Herne as an expert citizen.
Why do you want to be a volunteer at the World University Games 2025?
Even as a child, sporting events kept me glued to the television. I was active in various sports myself (athletics, handball, American football, floorball) and currently play soccer in the Kreisliga B at Eintracht Dortmund II. I love sports and events and want to be part of such a great event in the Ruhrpott.
A fun fact about you or your volunteer experience:
I lived in Finland for a year, was once the mascot at a children's festival and I've never seen a judo or rhythmic gymnastics competition live.
Anything else you always wanted to say:
Sport unites! We live in turbulent times. In sport, it doesn't matter what background you come from, it's all about moving together, having fun and getting the best out of yourself. Our society can learn a lot from sport!

Area in which you will be active as a volunteer or already have experience:
I will be working as an athlete companion for taekwondo at the World University Games. I'm very excited to see what that will be like. So far, I've mainly worked at the shows or in broadcasting.
Why do you want to be a volunteer at the World University Games 2025?
I always find it interesting to be able to look behind the scenes at big events and get to know areas that you don't normally have any contact with. You also get to meet lots of new people from different sports and cultures.
A fun fact about you or your volunteer experience:
I'm terrified of mascots, which is difficult to avoid at sporting events.
Area in which you will be active as a volunteer or already have experience:
Functional area: IT & Technology
Role: Scouter Volunteer
Why do you want to be a volunteer at the World University Games 2025?
I want to contribute my skills and experience in IT & Technology while being part of a major international event. Volunteering here is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn from diverse cultures, and challenge myself in a dynamic environment. I’m also eager to get active again, build my motivation, and break out of feeling down or stuck.
A fun fact about you or your volunteer experience:
During EWU Robofest, I was volunteering in the conference center and Robo Fight. At one point, a robot burst out of the ring with a massive hit, creating unexpected chaos and laughter. Moments like that make volunteering memorable!
Anything else you always wanted to get off your chest:
There’s so much on my mind, but most importantly, I want to feel motivated and active again. Volunteering here feels like a step towards finding that energy and drive once more.
