TU Dortmund University offers a wide range of opportunities for employees to gain further professional qualifications. In addition to the range of inhouse training coordinated by the Section Personnel Development, the university has a number of other institutions that offer qualification programs for research, teaching and transfer. The Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET) organizes workshops and seminars for employees and students of TU Dortmund University on a wide range of topics such as design thinking, marketing and the development of business models. The CET supports researchers and students in the exploitation of research results, the implementation of transfer projects and the realization of innovative start-up ideas.

HIS eG supports universities in making research and studies more efficient with software systems. HIS eG offers events and training courses on all aspects of HIS software.
The Hochschulübergreifende Fortbildung NRW (HÜF-NRW) offers advanced training and e-learning courses for the professional qualification of university employees in technology and administration.
IT-Fortbildung (IT.NRW) organizes seminars and advice to promote the digital and technological skills of administrative staff in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The NRW Hochschul-IP association offers free workshops and training courses on dealing with intellectual property.
In the seminars organized by Unfallkasse NRW, participants can find out about occupational health and safety and learn how they can promote a safe and healthy working environment.
