For the seventh time, the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering and the Sustainability Office of TU Dortmund University are jointly organizing a public, interdisciplinary lecture series. It offers an interdisciplinary program that is open to anyone interested and is part of the “studium oecologicum” certificate program.

The series provides fundamental information on climate protection, offers an overview of the actors involved, the consequences and risks of climate protection, and provides insights into climate research from various disciplines. At the same time, it aims to encourage participants to become actively engaged in climate protection themselves.

The fourteen lectures begin on 16 October 2026 and will take place on Fridays from 4.00 to 5.30 p.m., mostly as online webinars and twice in a hybrid format.

The lecture series is aimed at students of all departments as well as the general public. Within the studium oecologicum certificate program, it counts as a foundational module. It can also be attended as a module within the studium fundamentale or as an elective module in the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering, as well as through the senior citizens’ study program or in-house continuing education.

Students can register for the lecture series via the online university portal LSF. Employees of TU Dortmund University and external participants can register using the following form. The login information for the webinars will be sent by e-mail after registration.
