To gain admission and enroll in a Master’s degree program, applicants must meet the required access criteria.

Students apply and enroll through the Campusportal. Deadlines vary depending on the according Master’s degree program.

What can I expect during my studies?
The program is organized into a series of modules designed to build on one another throughout your studies. Students are encouraged to follow the recommended study plan, which outlines the modules assigned to each semester.
The structure of each module can be reviewed in the module manual. It provides detailed information on all modules offered within the degree program, including course content, examination formats and requirements, as well as requirements for participation.
Students may choose one of the following study profiles:
- Profile 1: Economic Policy and Journalism (without prior journalistic experience; language: English)
- Profile 2: Economic Policy Quality Journalism (with prior journalistic traineeship; language: German)

What’s next after graduation?

I work, e.g.,
- in business journalism (e.g., in the editorial departments of national daily or weekly newspapers and business journals, with political news and business magazines or on the economics and politics desks of public broadcasters)
- in specialist areas of economic policy journalism
- in public relations for institutions with an economic policy focus (such as public authorities, national and regional governments, associations and organizations, chambers of industry and commerce, economic research institutes, banks, financial institutions, and the insurance sector)
I work as, e.g.,
- business journalist
- economic policy specialist journalist
- PR manager for economic policy-oriented institutions and associations
After earning a Master’s degree, graduates can explore various career paths—from directly entering the workforce to pursuing a Ph.D. or an additional Master’s degree program to expand their knowledge and follow personal interests.
