Have you ever wondered how architects create spaces that are not only functional but also tell a story and evoke emotions?

Why do buildings shape our quality of life, and how can you contribute to designing innovative and sustainable cities and structures?

In this degree program, students work with topics such as:

  • interdisciplinary studies with practical relevance through joint training in the Dortmund Model together with civil engineering students
  • development of design competencies for the creation and evaluation of designs for private and public buildings as well as urban planning projects
  • ability in architectural design ranging from hand drawing to AI-generated visualization
  • basic knowledge of durable building structures, load-bearing constructions, and resource- and energy-efficient building methods
  • knowledge of cost factors, construction management, and construction economics competencies

Anything to do before the studies?

The motivation and aptitude test must be completed as a prerequisite for enrollment. Each year, a new task is provided that you need to work on and submit. This task will be available for download by June 15 (parallel to the NC admission process) and must be submitted via email by July 15th.

What can I expect during my studies?

The program is organized into a series of modules designed to build on one another throughout your studies. Students are encouraged to follow the recommended study plan, which outlines the modules assigned to each semester.
