Family
At TU Dortmund University, we do not use the term "family" to describe a formal structure, but rather people who take responsibility for each other in the long term as part of a personal relationship. This means that family friendliness benefits all forms of family.
Family-friendly measures support both students and employees at TU Dortmund University so that responsibility for children and family members in need of assistance can be reconciled with studies or work.
TU Dortmund University signed the "Family in the University" charter in 2014 and is a member of the association Familie in der Hochschule e.V. It is also active in the NRW Family University Network.

Familie in der Hochschule e.V. pursues the goal of anchoring the compatibility of studies, career and science with family responsibilities in the German-speaking university area and developing it further in the extended university network.
University Network Family NRW
The HochschulNetzwerk Familie HNF NRW is an association of family-oriented institutions at universities, colleges and university hospitals. Its main purpose is to strengthen the exchange between the family service offices and appropriate institutions and to facilitate the development of networked innovative ideas.
