Discrimination and sexualized violence are problems that affect society as a whole, including universities. As a place of education, research and teaching, TU Dortmund University is committed to preventing discrimination, abuse of power, harassment and sexualized violence and to creating an equal-opportunity, supportive and motivating working environment for students and employees.
TU Dortmund University has drawn up its own guidelines and set up a central advice center. TU Dortmund University also acts jointly with the two universities in Bochum and Duisburg/Essen in the UA Ruhr Working Group on Abuse of Power.
Directive on protection against discrimination and sexualized violence
SchuDS - Central advice center for protection against discrimination and sexualized violence
SchuDS is the central point of contact for people who experience or observe discrimination or sexualized violence or simply have questions on the subject. The SchuDS staff are there for all members and relatives of TU Dortmund University. Discrimination and sexualized violence are pursued intensively and relentlessly at the request of the person seeking advice and sanctioned appropriately within the scope of legal and actual possibilities.
Counseling is confidential, impartial and, if desired, anonymous. No steps will be taken without your consent.
Complaints office in accordance with Section 13 of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG)
Section 13 of the AGG gives university employees the right to lodge a complaint with the department if they feel that they have been discriminated against by their employer, superiors, other employees or third parties for one of the aforementioned reasons in connection with their employment relationship.
UA Ruhr Anti-Discrimination Network
The UA Ruhr Anti-Discrimination Network is an association of organizational units that are primarily concerned with protection against discrimination at their universities.
