Work and Study Places at TU Dortmund University
TU Dortmund University offers around 2280 individual and group study places at various locations that students can use to study for exams, write term papers or prepare presentations.

The study places on the list are open to students of all disciplines. Individual study places on the map can only be used by students of certain disciplines, which is indicated in the entries (only German).
Campus North
In the seminar room building, students have a total of 500 workstations in the foyer and in the corridors and workrooms on the first and third floors. There is also a quiet area in room 0.027.

The Emil Figge Library at Emil-Figge-Straße 50 offers 287 study workstations. There are also 20 group workstations in room 1.507 and a bookable group workroom for a maximum of 8 TU students and a workroom for students with disabilities and chronic illnesses in room 1.508.

A total of 250 workstations are available in the co-learning space. These include 174 individual workstations, 23 group workstations and 52 lounge workstations. Eight of these workstations are wheelchair accessible. In the evening hours, students can be accompanied to their car or to the S-Bahn by a security service.
The fastest way to reach the Co-Learning Space is currently via a temporary footpath (red path) between Seminar Room Building 1 and the Co-Learning Space. Passage through Seminar Room Building 1 is only possible until 9:30 pm.

A total of 150 workstations are available to students in the physics building. 55 of these are located in the foyer. The other workstations are located in the rooms P1-E0-R.414a, P1-E4-R.315 and P1-03-111. There is also a children's play corner and a changing table in room P1-03-111a.

The chemistry building offers 78 workstations for students in room C1-04-R.726.

Students can book a seminar room in the International Meeting Center for study groups of up to 30 people. A prior booking request is required.

There are 65 workstations available to students in the south campus library.

The Rudolf Chaudoire Pavilion is blocked off for students as a study room on a daily basis. There are 50 workstations available to students. The weekly occupancy plan for the room can be viewed via the LSF.

The Sebrath Library has 240 study workstations available for students. There is also a parent-child room (ground floor 0.005) and bookable group workstations.

In Martin-Schmeißer-Weg, students have access to group rooms with a total of 25 workstations.

Located in Dortmund's city center, the City Learning Space offers 160 study workstations for TU Dortmund University students as well as students enrolled at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the University of Duisburg-Essen or Fachhochschule Dortmund – University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

The following study places are also available to students in the evening:

- Co-Learning Space (South Campus): Monday - Friday until 8 pm
- Emil-Figge Library: Daily until 10 pm
- Physics Building: Monday - Friday until 8 pm
- Sebrath Library: Daily until 8 pm
- Seminar room building: Monday - Friday until 10 pm
In the evening and at night, students can be accompanied to the S-Bahn or the parking lot by the security service.
Study rooms for students with disabilities
The Emil-Figge Library (room 1.508) and DoBuS (room 0.235) (German only) have study rooms for students with disabilities. Both study spaces are located in the Emil-Figge-Straße 50 building on the North Campus.

Study places of the departments
In rooms ZU 04, ZE 13 and ZE 14, 135 study workstations are available to students of the Department of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.

On the 2nd floor of the Mechanical Engineering Building I, 64 study workstations are available to students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in room 263. It is necessary to lend a key to get access to the room.
