New guide with valuable advice and information for international researchers

International researchers coming to TU Dortmund University have to find their way around a new university, an unfamiliar city and usually also a foreign country. On top of this, at the beginning, there are always organisational obstacles to be overcome. To make this initial phase easier, TU Dortmund University’s International Office, together with the Welcome Centre at Ruhr University Bochum as well as the International Office and the Science Support Centre at the University of Duisburg-Essen, has prepared a guide containing useful information for researchers and teachers from abroad.

The Guide for International Researchers is a comprehensive overview of TU Dortmund University and its various organisational units, service points, continuing education and leisure opportunities. The guide also contains information on the City of Dortmund and the Ruhr Area. Moreover, it offers valuable information on the topics of visas and registration, accommodation, taxation, insurance and childcare. And that’s not all: the three universities’ international offices have also compiled general tips on life in Germany, such as doctors, banks, public transport and public holidays. On all topics you will find related links and lists of people to contact.
