Affiliated Research Institutes

Außenaufnahme des Gebäudes, in dem sich das ISAS befindetRobust institutional networks in the natural sciences and engineering profile areas make a significant contribution to TU Dortmund University's research achievements. Affiliated institutes are legally and economically independent extramural institutions which cooperate closely with the university on the basis of a cooperation agreement. Five institutes hold the status of an affiliated institute of TU Dortmund University:

  1. Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences (ISAS): ISAS develops multiparameter analysis methods for biological materials in order to improve the prevention and early diagnosis of disease and facilitate new therapies.
  2. Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund University (IfADo): IfADo explores the potential and risks of all facets of modern work with the aim of improving work design.
  3. Research Association for Gerontology/Institute for Gerontology at TU Dortmund University (FfG): FfG conducts interdisciplinary, application-oriented research on demographic trends and how we want to live in an aging society.
  4. German Institute for Civic Art (DIS) (in German only): DIS focuses on researching and teaching the art of urban development.
  5. Research Institute for Technology and Disability (FTB): FTB's activities include the development, evaluation and application of modern technologies to assist elderly people and people with disabilities.
