The Corporate Center Human Resources takes care of all matters related to service or employment relationships.

The section is divided into the following three subject areas:

Subject area 1 manages the personnel matters of university teaching staff and civil servants in academia, technical services, and administration. It advises and supports the academic departments and service facilities in all questions regarding civil service law and personnel strategy.

Subject area 2 offers an advisory service for matters related to benefits, salary, and social security legislation of civil servants and helps with online applications for information on benefits.

Subject area 3 manages business travel, excursions, relocation costs, severance payments as well as secondary employment matters and recreational leave for all employees of TU Dortmund University.

Salaried and Other Employees is responsible for all personnel matters concerning salaried employees in academia, technical services, and administration. It accompanies the entire employment process from the perspective of personnel administration – from recruitment until the end of the employment relationship. In so doing, it provides the academic departments and service facilities of TU Dortmund University with comprehensive advice and assistance on all matters related to labor and collective bargaining legislation as well as on questions regarding personnel strategy.

The section is additionally responsible for employing student and research assistants, providing administrative assistance for visiting researchers, and for applications for the approval and invoicing of teaching assignments and guest lectures. It naturally also operates in an advisory capacity on these matters.

Personnel Development’s objective is to help staff, managers, and teams at TU Dortmund University to manage their work efficiently by implementing commensurate measures as well as to supply the academic departments with suitable, highly qualified personnel. The section helps to achieve TU Dortmund University’s strategic goals, taking employees’ needs and qualifications into account in the process. Specifically, such measures include personnel planning, (further) training, onboarding, executive resource development, annual staff appraisals, occupational health management, personnel marketing and recruitment, aptitude diagnostics, the central organization of personnel selection procedures, and secretarial and administrative support.

The staff unit is responsible for equal opportunities, family, and diversity at TU Dortmund University. It develops, implements, and supports strategies, instruments, and measures to improve equal opportunities and family-friendliness.
