Statistics

The Department of Statistics of TU Dortmund University is the only stand-alone statistics department in German-speaking countries. The department offers programs in Statistics (Bachelor’s and Master’s), Data Science (Bachelor’s and Master’s) and Econometrics (Master’s). 

The field of statistics consists of applied mathematics and problem-oriented data analysis with interdisciplinary applications. There is hardly a scientific discipline or industrial branch today that can function without modern statistical methods. Their application in medicine, business and technology provides answers to many interesting questions and offers solutions to challenging problems. Studying statistics means learning to use theoretical tools to solve practical problems in economics, technology, or medicine.
