Overview
One of the most important questions in science is the understanding of our body. How does the heart beat, the lungs breath and how do 1 billion cells act together to form that thing that we call a brain. What is health and what disease? If you want to understand medicine and living systems with the tools of natural science, if you want to develop new avenues to diagnose cancer and apply physical principles to treat it, the Master’s in Medical Physics and Physics of Living Systems is for you.
Skills and knowledge
The Master’s degree program addresses students who want to use the natural sciences, and physics in particular, to better understand the world of medicine and living systems. During their studies, students acquire advanced scientific skills and learn to apply physical principles to biomedical challenges – from diagnostics to biotechnology and health technology. Students should have sufficient knowledge of physics and mathematics. As the language of instruction for the degree program is English, English language skills at level B2 are required.
Field of activity
Some of the graduates specializing in medical physics are aiming for recognition as medical physics experts (MPE) after graduation. For all others, potential employers are not only in companies in the fields of medical technology and diagnostics, but also in the constantly growing job markets of biotechnology and nanotechnology, pharmacy and basic research.
Additional information
The master program prepares students for a doctorate in the natural sciences, engineering or life sciences.
