Architecture and Civil Engineering
What is it about?
How can we design structures that sustainably shape the quality of life in our cities?
Are you excited to experience the professional fields of construction through a practice-oriented degree program?
Have you ever wondered how civil engineers design buildings or bridges that are not only functional but also tell a story?
Interest sparked?
In this degree program, students work with topics such as:
- interdisciplinary studies with practical relevance through joint training in the Dortmund Model together with architecture students
- subject-specific fundamentals of civil engineering and the design, planning, and analysis of typical building structures
- sound knowledge of fundamental principles in mathematics and natural sciences
- basic understanding of durable building constructions, structural systems, and resource- and energy-efficient building methods
- knowledge of cost factors as well as construction management and economic competencies
Why study Civil Engineering?

„What’s especially cool is working together on projects with architecture students in the Dortmund Model.“

„We’re in close contact with both Bachelor's programs – the architecture students and the civil engineering students. Also we have really great professors here.“
