TU Dortmund University has a long tradition of creating inclusive study conditions and individual support for prospective students and students with disabilities/chronic illnesses with DoBuS - the Disability and Study section in the Center for Higher Education. In addition to offering individual counseling, DoBuS organizes about a three-day trial study every year for study orientation with regard to studying with a disability, as well as regular information events on the topic of study and disability at special schools.
Department of Disability and Studies (DoBuS)
In cooperation with the DoBuS, the Talent Scouting team of TU Dortmund Univeristy offers, in addition to the consultation hours in remedial vocational colleges, further offers in the area of study and disability. For example, a workshop on the topic of "inclusive Talent Scouting" is held regularly at the NRW-Zentrum für Talentförderung (NRW Center for Talent Development). The workshop offers NRW Talent Scouts space for exchange and reflection on Talent Scouting experiences with impaired pupils and students. In addition, an overview of the challenges, assistance and legal provisions of studying with a disability will be provided.
