Prof. Dr. Tessa Flatten

Professor Tessa Flatten took office as Vice President International Affairs on 1 September 2020.
Flatten has been Professor for Technology Management at TU Dortmund University since 2015. Previously, the economist worked at RWTH Aachen University and Justus Liebig University Giessen. She maintains numerous international contacts, including in the USA and Asia. She has been a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, for over fifteen years. She is president of the UA Ruhr office in New York, a member of the advisory board of the Academy in Exile at TU Dortmund University and co-founder and board member of the DLab at TU Dortmund University.
The Vice President International Affairs is responsible for all cross-department matters concerning the internationalization of TU Dortmund University, especially the establishment of international strategic partnerships and support offers for international guests on campus. With the adoption of TU Dortmund University's internationalization strategy, her priorities include increasing the international visibility of TU Dortmund University as a research location, increasing student and researcher mobility and expanding internationally resilient collaborations.
The Vice President International Affairs is supported by the interdisciplinary Project Team Internationalization and selected focus departments.
