The four-semester M.A. in Cultural Analysis and Cultural Intermediation is characterized by the interdisciplinary interlinking of the following subjects: Cultural Anthropology of Textiles, Art History, Musicology and the corresponding communication sciences. The aim of the Master’s program is to view culture as a holistic constellation and to understand its complexity.

Today, new knowledge in science, economics, management, and technology is created almost exclusively from large quantities of complex data. To properly handle patient or customer data, share prices and returns, and weather or climate information, one needs knowledge of statistics, computer science, and mathematics. These subjects are combined in the Data Science Bachelor’s degree program. Students acquire the ability to carry out statistical data analyses and at the same time gain deeper insights into concepts and methods in computer science.

The English-language Master’s degree program in Econometrics is offered jointly by the UA Ruhr universities TU Dortmund, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and the University of Duisburg-Essen (Essen Campus). It combines the expertise of the three participating economics faculties in empirical economic research and economics with the methodologically oriented training of Dortmund Statistics and Econometrics. This bundling of training and research competencies enables a specialized curriculum with a broad range of courses on econometric and economic topics.

The Bachelor of Economic Policy Journalism combines a degree in economics with a journalism degree. Our students spend a good half of their studies in the economics faculty and also undergo the practical training in the multimedia training newsroom of the Institute of Journalism as well as an integrated one-year traineeship at the end of their studies. Accompanying seminars during the studies create the link between the fields of economics and journalism.

The objective of the two-year Master’s degree program in Economics & Journalism is to train experts for economic policy practice. Accordingly, it targets outstanding economics graduates. It is also open to graduates of the B.A. in Economic Policy Journalism at TU Dortmund University.
