The terrorist attack has led to immeasurable suffering now affecting all people in the entire region.

On the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, the terrorist organization Hamas coordinated a major attack on Israel, which the German government described as “perfidious” and “not justified by anything”. TU Dortmund University condemns this attack, too. It has started an avalanche of immeasurable suffering, which is now affecting all people in the entire region. Our sympathy and thoughts are with the victims and their families. We still hope that, despite the difficult situation, a peaceful solution can be found.

For many years, TU Dortmund University has maintained close and diverse connections in research and teaching in this region and is actively committed to scientific exchange. We remain committed to this, even in these difficult times.

We hope that TU members from different nations will continue to form a united community on our campus, regardless of any political conflict. It is a sign of international understanding that students from Israel, the Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Iran learn together at TU Dortmund University in peace and mutual respect.
