The University Elective Assembly consisting of the Senate and the University Council elected the 52-year-old as Chancellor by a large majority on 21 June. Neuhaus had explained to the electoral body that he primarily wanted to further strengthen the service orientation for academia and further promote the attractiveness of the university as an employer. On 18 October, he will present his goals in more detail in a talk to the university community. The event will take place at 10 a.m. in Lecture Hall 1 of the Seminar Room Building (SRG I). The talk will be held in German; questions may be asked in English during the discussion. Please register by 11 October, if you plan to attend.
Succession advertised
Astrid Moysich-Lengowski, Senior Director of the Corporate Centers Human Resources and Legal Affairs, will temporarily take over as Head of Human Resources from September. The succession was publicly advertised in mid-August. Internal and external candidates can still apply for the position of Director Human Resources until 15 September.
Neuhaus succeeds Albrecht Ehlers as head of university administration, who retired on 1 December 2023 after 14 years in office. The Chancellor is responsible for budget management and university administration.
