During the Young Entrepreneurs in Science workshop, participants can learn about their entrepreneurial strengths, network with real sciencepreneurs, and learn about career options after their PhD. The event will be accompanied by the innovation coaches of Young Entrepreneurs in Science (YES) and the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET) of TU Dortmund University and is open to all interested PhD students and postdocs.

The workshop is split into two parts. In the first part, "From PhD to Sciencepreneur", participants can discover what it means to be an entrepreneur. In the process, they learn about their entrepreneurial strengths and meet experienced role models who share their successes and failures. The second part, "The Design Thinking Process", teaches the principles of design thinking to refine ideas for potential products. Here, the concepts of empathy and human-centered design are explored and a prototype is created for the final presentation.

The workshop requires no prior experience and will be held in English to allow access for international graduate students and university postdocs. Upon completion, participants will receive a personalized certificate and exclusive access to an online network for scholars. Applications are possible until 14 July. Participation is free of charge.
