The young international scientists get to know the universities of the UA Ruhr and the region.
TU Dortmund University invited nine young scientists from all over the world as part of the “Research Explorer Ruhr” program. Throughout the two-week program, they get to know both the university and the entire Ruhr area as an attractive place to both research and live.

“Research Explorer Ruhr” is an initiative of the Research Academy Ruhr, the joint platform for promoting young researchers of the University Alliance (UA) Ruhr. For two weeks every year, the UA Ruhr welcomes international postdoctoral researchers and doctoral students who have already submitted their dissertations to plan projects with the local institutions and find out about funding opportunities for longer stays.

The guests work with the groups of professors who invited them, attend a third-party funding workshop, take a tour of the campus and get to know the region.

The guests visiting TU Dortmund University this year are:

  • Olutomiwa Binuyo from South Africa with JProf. Carolyn Blume (teacher training and educational research)
  • Sampson Wong from Australia with Prof. Kevin Buchin (applied computer science)
  • Keshav Kaushik from India with Prof. Timm Faulwasser (energy efficiency)
  • Jessica Mayumi Maruyama from Brazil with Prof. Ricarda Steinmayr (psychology)
  • Aitor Irastorza-Fadrique from the United Kingdom with Prof. Michael Böhm (economics / economic policy)
