231 students of TU Dortmund University are supported monthly with funds from the Deutschlandstipendium (German public-private scholarship). During the celebration on 23 April, the recipients were able to meet the donors of their scholarships in person. At the Westphalian Industrial Club, the Soroptimist sponsorship award was also presented to a student who is committed to ensuring that pupils can receive free tutoring.

For more than ten years, TU Dortmund University has been offering the Deutschlandstipendium as a funding opportunity for students. Private donors and companies are currently supporting 231 high-performing and talented TU students with this scholarship. The Deutschlandstipendien are donated by 58 sponsors. Prof. Manfred Bayer, President of TU Dortmund University, congratulated the scholarship holders, thanked the donors – and presented the certificates. The biggest supporters include the Wilo-Foundation, Sparkasse Dortmund, Bernd Jochheim Foundation, RAG-Foundation, Artur- and Lieselotte-Dumcke-Foundation and the Association of Friends of TU Dortmund University.

The scholarship holders receive 300 euros per month for at least two semesters – 150 euros from the federal government and 150 euros from the respective donors. The selection of scholarship holders focuses on outstanding academic achievements. In addition, social commitment, the willingness to take on responsibility, or special social, family, or personal circumstances are taken into account.
