The Bachelor’s degree programs in industrial engineering and economics have earned top marks.

In the new CHE University Ranking, the Bachelor’s degree program in industrial engineering at TU Dortmund was ranked first nationwide. The Bachelor’s degree in economics is also among the top-ranking programs in several categories. The results were published in mid-May on the HeyStudium portal, which is an offshoot of the ZEIT Study Guide.

For the portal, the Center for Higher Education (CHE) compared around 40 universities in Germany that offer degree programs in industrial engineering. The Dortmund program is the only one that made it into the top group in all three of the preselected main categories. The students are very satisfied with the overall study conditions here, including the range of courses offered, the support provided by teachers and the organization of their studies. TU Dortmund University also excels in terms of the support provided to new students. An outstanding quality factor is the proximity to professional practice that the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Business and Economic offer their students.

The Bachelor’s degree program in economics at TU Dortmund University also made it into the top group in three categories. In addition to the overall study conditions and support for new students, the Department of Business and Economics is particularly impressive when it comes to promoting young academics. No other university performs better in terms of doctorates per professorship, putting this program at TU Dortmund University in the top 10 in its class.
