Campus Management Project Reaches New Milestone

The changeover took about two weeks: From 28 November, thousands of student records were transferred to the new Campusportal. After the launch, students can now use new functions: They can view personal data, change contact information, and download study certificates as well as other certificates. Furthermore, they can receive all information related to re-registration, such as payment information for the semester contribution. Moreover, students have the option of submitting various online applications, for example, to change personal data, for a leave of absence or for removals from the register of students. “As expected, we encountered some technical challenges during the changeover. These were successfully overcome thanks to the great commitment of everyone involved in the project,” sums up project manager Tobias Sturm. “I am very pleased that we were able to take another important step in the introduction of the new Campus Management System.” Moreover, the BOSS system is now also available again for exam registrations, grade overviews or posting of exam results.

As part of the Campus Management project, the TU Dortmund University´s software products for organizing study and teaching operations are gradually being replaced. Under the name Campusportal, the new software HISinOne will unite all functions currently available via various portals, such as LSF or BOSS. The Campusportal is already the leading system for some functions: For example, prospective students with German higher education entrance qualifications have already been applying in the new Campusportal since June 2021. It is planned to gradually go live with the other elements of the new system over the next two years. Next, the project aims to introduce system components for course and examination management within the departments.
