06.05.2024 - TU Dortmund University presents itself at DORTBUNT
On Sunday, May 5, TU Dortmund University took part in the Dortmund City Festival with numerous program items. These included a large stand with hands-on activities and information offers, performances by various music ensembles and a contribution by the KinderUni in the Reinoldikirche.
TU-Guide Alina Bähr honored for student commitment
20.12.2023 - Alina Bähr is studying Journalism and Political Science in her third semester. Alina has been active as a TU Guide since 2022 and helps pupils find their way into university. Among other things, she gives campus tours and takes pupils to the university for taster days. In mid-December, she received TU Dortmund University's Teaching Award 2023 in the "Student Engagement" category. As part of the Academic Year Celebration, she was honored for her commitment to the AStA and as a TU Guide.
Open Day 2023: Talents on the TU Dortmund campus
28.10.2023 - Visitors to this year's Open Day were once again invited to experience what scientists are researching, what study opportunities the TU Dortmund University faculties offer and what projects the various institutions are working on. In order to make the TU Dortmund University campus tangible together with the talent scouts, the TU Dortmund University talent scouting team offered a group of young people a supporting program under the motto "Courage to study" during the Open Day.
NRW talent scouting becomes one of the largest programs for more equal opportunities in Germany
13.09.2023 - The NRW Talent Scouting program developed by the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences Gelsenkirchen Bocholt Recklinghausen has once again been massively expanded by the North Rhine-Westphalian state government. In future, around 30,000 pupils at up to 600 schools in NRW will be continuously accompanied and supported on their individual educational path by around 100 talent scouts.

First-time graduates pages of the TU Dortmund University
15.05.2023 - The talent scouting team at TU Dortmund University recently published an information portal on the topic of first-generation students. The website raises awareness of topics such as first generation students, barriers to advancement and educational equity and aims to awaken the spontaneous willingness of the target group to engage with the numerous offers for first-generation students at TU Dortmund University and to become active accordingly.

10.03.2023 - In the series "Mein Weg - Deine Chance," people talk about their educational advancements: For example, about the challenges they had to overcome to be the first in their family to study. Young people can discover facets of educational advancement and find out what opportunities are open to them. On Friday, March 10, 2023, the series of events was held for the first time in cooperation with the "Talents4Teachers" project of the DoKoLL of TU Dortmund University under the motto "A teaching degree - something for me!".

One of these events is the regularly held TalenteNetzwerkTreffen. Talents who study at TU Dortmund University or who are accompanied in their career by the Talent Scouts can participate in the network meetings.

NRW Talent Scouting celebrates 10th anniversary
10/21/2022 - In 2012, Talent Scout pioneer Suat Yılmaz was the first talent scout from a German university to go to schools in the northern Ruhr region to discover talent, mainly from non-academic families, in cooperation with teachers, and to accompany, advise and inform them regarding their future plans.

Targeted support for first-time graduates
07/26/2022 - TU Dortmund University's Talent Scouts find talented young people in schools, mentor and accompany them on their way to university and during their time at the university. At a network meeting on July 15, around 25 young people from three generations came together on campus: High school students, prospective students on their way to TU Dortmund University, and TU students, all of whom are accompanied by Talent Scouts.

Talent scouting at TU Dortmund writes success stories
18.02.2022 - The TU Dortmund University talent scouts have been in action for around seven years: they find young talents in schools, mentor and accompany them on their way to university or vocational training and beyond. A recent study now confirms the success of talent scouting: the program has improved educational equity in university access by up to 70 percent, and advancement through education has been made significantly easier.
