Senate

The Senate participates in the election of the members of the Rectorate and is responsible for commenting on the accountability report of the Rectorate. In addition, it is responsible for enacting and amending the Charter and other regulations of the university. Furthermore, the Senate drafts recommendations and statements on the draft of the university development plan and the agreement on objectives, on the evaluation reports, on the economic plan, and on the principles for the distribution of positions and funds among the departments, central scientific institutions, central operating units, and the medical institutions.

Members of the Senate with voting rights are twelve representatives of the group of university teachers, five of the group of academic staff, five of the group of other staff and five of the group of students. The term of office of the Senate members from the group of university teachers and of the academic employees is two years, that of the students one year and that of other employees is four years.

Non-voting members of the Senate are the Rector, the Vice Presidents, the Deans, the Chancellor, the person of trust of the Representative of Severely Disabled Persons, the chairperson of the Staff Council for Non-Scientific Employees and the Staff Council for Scientific and Artistic Employees, and the speaker of the General Student Committee AStA.
