Application Information

Application period: August 15 through September 15

All students enrolled at TU Dortmund University who are within the standard period of study may apply—that is, first-year students, currently enrolled students, and current scholarship recipients (for continued funding). Below, we’ve summarized the most important information about the application process for you:

How do I apply?

Applications are accepted exclusively online – you’ll find the link to the application portal at the bottom of this page. Students already enrolled should register using only their @tu-dortmund.de email address. The portal will be open from August 15 to September 15. 

What information and documents do I need for the application?

  • Personal information (address, etc.)
  • Statement of purpose
  • Academic records (current transcript from the central examination office)
  • Educational background
  • Transcript from the Central Examination Office; alternatively: high school diploma, certificate of first degree (e.g., bachelor’s degree).
  • If applicable, certificate of previous (higher education) training
  • If available: Certificates of special awards or volunteer work, as well as employment and/or internship certificates

You may combine multiple documents into a single file. Only PDF files are accepted. Please note that you must also upload all documents in anonymized form so that no personal identification is possible.
