Overview
In addition to acquiring basic knowledge in computer science, the Bachelor's degree course in Applied Computer Science offers the opportunity to apply what you have learned in an engineering subject. This can be chosen from a variety of application subjects. These include electrical engineering, logistics, mechanical engineering and robotics.
Skills and knowledge
The prerequisite for enrollment is a university entrance qualification (usually the Abitur). Attendance of a computer science course during school or an aptitude test are NOT required.
To successfully complete the course, an interest in technical developments is helpful. An enjoyment of mathematics and logic is an advantage. The enthusiasm to analyze problems formally and then solve them practically should not be missing.

With a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, graduates have a wide range of career opportunities. After successfully completing their studies, they can work in areas such as software development or application consulting, but also in the administration of networks or databases.

After successfully completing a Bachelor's degree, it is possible to switch to the Master's degree in Applied Computer Science. Starting a career in Dortmund is made particularly easy by attractive job opportunities in the technology park close to the university.
