Self Management and Time Management

Self- and time management refers to controlling oneself and one's own use of time.

Especially the daily study routine during the (digital) semester offers many situations to rethink one's Self- and time management and to find and implement new strategies for oneself.

If you want to change something, it usually makes sense to take several steps:

 

  • Observation of the initial situation
    • What am I satisfied with?
    • What would I like to change?
    • What is the most important thing?
    • What is probably easiest to implement?
  • Set a goal (e.g. according to the SMART principle)
  • Inform yourself about strategies
  • Try out strategies
  • Monitor implementation, and adjust strategies if necessary
  • Keeping to it
  • Identify obstacles
  • Restart after setbacks

Regressions are the rule rather than the exception and are part of almost every change process. If you use them to look at what you have done well before and what you can learn from the situation, every step backwards offers an opportunity to develop further.
