Mission Statement Good Science Communication

Science communication has many facets: It takes place within science, originates from science and is about science. Apart from communication within the professional circles of the scientific community, TU Dortmund University is particularly committed to external communication with a broad public interested in scientifically sound facts and positions within the discourse on issues relevant to society. Good external science communication is science-oriented and audience-specific, selects the most suitable format and considers its impact. TU Dortmund University supports good science communication both at institutional level as well as at the level of individual researchers. To this end, the Rectorate has approved of this mission statement, which focuses on informative types of communication as opposed to communication for merely reputational purposes.
