On 9 July, TU Dortmund University will celebrate its Summer Festival! Starting at 3 p.m., all members and affiliates, their families, relatives and friends as well as supporters and guests of the university are cordially invited to join us on campus.
I look forward to welcoming professors, staff from academia, administration, and technical services as well as students to this special occasion!
Once again this year, the Summer Festival offers a wide-ranging program: departments, student councils and other units of TU Dortmund University will present exhibitions, hands-on activities, experiments and much more around Emil-Figge-Straße 50 and Martin-Schmeißer-Platz. The “Street of Engineers“ (Straße der Ingenieure/ EUnet-Allee) has become an established part of the festival and is well worth a visit again this year.
There will also be sporting activities at the TUrnpunkt and TUrnfels, where exciting activities took place for the first time last year. A colorful children’s program awaits our younger guests.
Visitors can also look forward to a variety of international dishes, which will once again be offered at two locations – as usual on the Mensa Bridge and this year again on the Street of Engineers. At the Studierendenwerk’s grill station, 3,000 sausages and 2,000 vegan fitness bowls will be distributed free of charge.
Musically, visitors can enjoy a range of concerts on the Martin-Schmeißer stage and the stage at Emil-Figge-Straße 50.
Please note for your planning: For participation in the Summer Festival, employees will be released from duties from 2.30 p.m. until the regular end of the working day, unless compelling work-related reasons prevent this in individual cases.
To enable students and lecturers to attend the Summer Festival, I kindly ask all lecturers to reschedule their classes if possible. Thank you very much!

The Rectorate is looking forward to celebrating with you!
With best regards, Manfred Bayer
